The universe has been sending me curve after curve on my quest to greatness! I have had such an experience on this journey and the only way I can describe it is, humbling. From the beginning of 2015, I have been planning my move to Atlanta, GA, although I’ve wanted to move there since forever, I just recently had the opportunity to make that happen. So back around the end of June, my friend and I packed our bags, jumped in my car, and hightailed it to ATL!! Once we got there it was straight to work, looking for castings, booking photoshoots and really immersing ourselves in the ATLien lifestyle.

Well that was very short lived because after four days of being there, my car was stolen! Yep that’s right, someone got into my car and drove away. Not only did they take all of the inventory and valuable property out of the car, they ripped out my ignition, stripped my oil, left anti-freeze all inside of the car and my wallet with my DL and credit cards were in the car as well. After being awaken in the middle of the night by my friend, only to find out someone had just driven away in my car, left me dazed, confused, and totally in shock. Of course, my initial feeling was devastation. I mean, my whole life was in my car, my wallet, my cards, my inventory. I was just really hurt because I felt like I was on the right track, how could this happen to me? I tried to remain positive as I reminded myself the Creator and universe has a crazy way of working things out. I’ve seen it happen too many times but I couldn’t help crying myself to sleep that night.
Luckily, the car was found a few days later. The time I spent however, trying to get the car out of police custody, the towing company’s lot and back in my possession was pure HELL. Boy, did I have a lot of mood swings, emotional spurts, and anxiety attacks. It was really an experience that I had not prepared myself for, in which the universe was out to prove. Overall, I was able to stay positive and keep myself together to get through this with a little encouragement along the way.
Fast forward to today and I can say the Creator will never let me down. All of the trials we go through only make us stronger. My colleagues look at me for my strength during this process but, to me, that situation exposed just how weak and ill prepared I was. Going through that showed me a lot and has put me in a place to make some major moves for my brand. So now I’m back and forth from Columbia to Atlanta. As I am just being able to lay this situation to rest, I wanted to share my experience with you guys and just get it off my chest.
I’ve really been an example of trusting the journey and not the pain. Everything you think you have planned for your life can be changed in an instance. Life will throw you punches just to test how well you can adapt and prevail. I continue to stay and promote positivity because that is a MAJOR thing that will get you through life.
