#LIFE | Happy Birthday Domino J!

img_0717.jpg

A quarter of a century! Yep, I had my 25th birthday! Not today, but my birthday was January 7th, 2016. I’ve always wanted to do an extravagant party like a Sweet Sixteen or something but I never had the chance. This year, I decided to change that by having a Harlem Nights themed birthday party.

The venue was so perfect. It was a 1920’s themed lounge in Columbia! How cool is that?! It’s called Empire Supper Club. They always have something new going on too. From burlesque shows and fire breathers to international food and music nights. It was an amazing night to say the least.

I had two dresses and this one (above) has to be my favorite dress! I walked into this vintage store in Columbia, called Hip*Wa*Zee, and it was in front on a mannequin waiting for me to make it my own. I heard the voice of angels with light shining down it. *queues ahhh* I got this beautiful headpiece from there too. And I was so excited to find my shoes at Charlotte Russe for $10!! You guys know how much I love a good sale, especially a shoe sale.

My cake and cupcakes were done by no one other than my good friend, Chef Pebbles. When I tell you her cakes are crack, they are addictive. And in honor of Sugar Ray’s, I had my very own candy bar set up. We had jelly beans, rock candy, sixlets, and some pretty silver gumballs. The funny thing is that I didn’t know the coloration between the candy and the movie (being that I watched it for the first time 2 days before my party), until after I watched it. I’d wanted the candy bar from the start and when I figured it out, I really thought of myself as a genius lol! (A girl can dream, right?)

I also had a photo booth with 1920’s themed photo props! (more party pics coming soon) And yes, I planned this whole shindig myself! I mean, I am an event planner ;-)!

All in all, I HAD SO MUCH DAMN FUN! I’m grateful that I was able to celebrate another year with people in my life that support, love, and care for you. And, of course, I feel that way about you guys so I had to share! I hope you enjoy!
