What an amazing weekend! There were so many things going on in the city, it surprised me. Columbia, SC is a little on the slow side being a retirement state and all lol. I was invited to attend the EP listening party for a local artist from Florence, SC, Dougie Hendrix. Dougie Hendrix is a 21-year-old phenom ready to make good on his second chance. Raised in church, his craft sword was sharpened in the solidarity of a jail cell. Not looking back since his release, the budding star has already recreating his future, touring with the likes of Carl Thomas and recently opening for R&B Diva Chrisette Michelle. Bold enough to serenade Real Housewife Claudia Jordan on a crowded step and repeat, Hendrix has no problem claiming his place in the R&B conversation. Music, fashion, and showmanship; Dougie Hendrix is definitely writing himself as a main character in the next chapter of R&B music.
